Hardened tool steel W.-No. 1.2379
Due to the alloy with approx. 1.50% carbon in combination with approx. 12% chromium as well as molybdenum and vanadium, this material can be hardened to a very high hardness of 59-61 HRC. h+s precision foils stock piece-hardened formats that have a scaled surface due to the hardening process, but are nevertheless very flat. Due to the poor thickness tolerance caused by hot rolling and a scaled surface caused by hardening, surface grinding of the cut parts is necessary.
